The Malone Central School District is very excited to introduce the two educators who have joined us as the building principals at Davis and Flanders elementary schools. Please join us in welcoming them to our district!
Davis Elementary, George Scoville-Upham
Mr. Scoville-Upham is no stranger to Malone. He proudly served as a vocal music teacher in our district for 15 years — three of those years at the elementary level and twelve at Franklin Academy. In 2022, he accepted the position of 7–12 Principal at Lisbon Central School, where he worked with students and staff to promote a culture of academic growth, wellness, and community.
Now, with great excitement and a deep sense of pride, Mr. Scoville-Upham returns “home” to Malone — this time as a proud Husky leading Davis Elementary.
About his return to Malone, Mr. Scoville-Upham says, “It is an incredible honor to return to the Malone Central School District, a place that has meant so much to me throughout my life and career. I am beyond excited to join the team at Davis Elementary and work alongside such passionate educators, dedicated families, and bright young learners. My heart has always been with Malone, and I can’t wait to continue building a safe, joyful, and engaging environment where every student feels seen, heard, and inspired. Let’s have a great year, Huskies!”
Flanders Elementary, Beth Williams-Carter
Mrs. Williams-Carter is also no stranger to Malone. For the past year and a half she has worked in our district as chairperson of the Committee on Special Education and as a school counselor at Franklin Academy. Prior to that, she was born and raised in Utica, where she received her B.S. from Utica College before going on to earn a masters in social work from Syracuse University and a school district leader certificates from SUNY Plattsburgh.
She is entering her 25th year in education. Twenty-one of those were spent working in special education 8:1:1 programs and as a school social worker, with three of those being at Brushton-Moira, before coming to Malone.
Mrs. Williams-Carter says of her new position, “I am honored and excited to be the new principal at Flanders Elementary and to be able to continue my professional career at Malone Central School .
I can’t wait to meet all of my new students and Flanders families in September along with working with the amazing staff at Flanders!”
