Each week in Ms. Bruce's middle school positive peer relationship group, students work together while playing Jenga. During the game, they have to ask each other questions about themselves each time a game piece is pulled. These sixth graders teamed up to keep the tower from falling! Impressive! 🤍💚 #HeartOfAHusky

The Malone Middle School library was transformed into a reading cafe in honor of Read Across America Week, Mar. 3-7! Students filled the library, getting comfy, reading, enjoying hot cocoa, and winning prizes. What a great week! #HeartOfAHusky

Peeling away the wonders of science one banana at a time! That's exactly what Athan Ledger accomplished during science class with Mrs. Hourihan and Mr. Lamitie in the middle school library. Using the skin of a banana to create a circuit to operate controls on the computer screen. How cool! All of our students have the ability to take these Makey Makey Kits for a spin when they visit the library. #HeartOfAHusky 💚

MMS 7th-grade students participated in developing food trucks for Home and Careers class. Students developed a concept, completed a food truck financial course in Math, wrote a business plan in ELA, met with the “bank” to secure a loan, developed a menu and logo, and lastly, built their food truck with help from Ms. Guerrett. Guest speakers shared the food distribution system and details of operating a food truck.

Today in Home and Careers, Jessica Bennett and Nicole Shantie came from One Work Source to speak to MMS students about employability. Students also used VR headsets to experience 22 different careers through Virtual Reality.

The 6th-grade Home and Careers students have been working on the Child Development unit. After spending the last few weeks learning about infant developmental milestones, we had some special visitors— two little ones and their moms — came by to help complete the milestone checklists. Baby Able and Baby Susie were wonderful participants. A big thank you to their moms, Becky Pelletier and Clarissa Hastings, for bringing them in!
