The Franklin Academy varsity spring Fortnite team captured the Eastern Regional Championship title, topping 70 high school teams from Maine to Florida.

The three-player team earned one of only 15 spots in the national playoff bracket of the Scholastic PlayVS League. Competing for college scholarships, the team went on to place sixth in the national spring league—marking the highest finish in school esports history.

The milestone is a first for Franklin Academy’s esports program, which has frequently reached playoff brackets in past seasons.
