Principal's Message

Welcome to St. Joseph's Elementary School!

We would like to extend a warm welcome to all our families joining our school community. We are having another exciting year full of wonderful learning opportunities and new experiences for all of our school community.

Parents and families play an important role in the success of our students at St. Joseph's.  Therefore, we appreciate and encourage their involvement.  During the school year, we will do our best to keep our students and their families informed of upcoming events and important dates to remember.  The positive and respectful relationships we have established contribute greatly to the success of our students.

We ask that you feel free to contact us should you have any questions or concerns.

Pipsqueak Sugar Bug ShowDown!

This isn’t your typical dental hygiene lecture! Student magicians, one zany bird, and a few hilarious mix-ups along the way make proper brushing and flossing techniques an adventure! Thank you to St. Joe's PTO for sponsoring this fun, dental care show.

New Learning Brings Smiles to Student's Faces!

Our school library hosted a Star Lab experience for all St. Joseph's Elementary students. In preparation, students have been learning about constellations and space with Mrs. Clark. After watching a video on Mystery Science, one of our library databases, our first grade students had the opportunity to participate in an engaging learning activity. They created a star maker model, and projected images of the Big Dipper onto various dark spaces in the library. Our students were engaged in the learning process and highly enjoyed it! The proof is in the smiles on their faces!

PTO

Our Mission:

The PTO at St. Joseph's Elementary School maintains a close working relationship between parents, teachers/staff, and students. It is our goal to enhance the educational experience by supporting the students and teaching staff through fundraising efforts to provide additional equipment, services, and special projects. A strong PTO is evidence of parental interest and does ensure a better school environment for our children.

Our PTO holds meetings to discuss and implement the ideas of the parents and teaching staff.

Meeting Dates: March 21st @ 4:00, April 18th@ 6:00pm, May 16th @ 4:00pm

School-Wide Bucket Filling Program

We are thrilled to introduce our school-wide Bucket Filling program! This program is a nationwide program designed to improve social & emotional learning at school. It is based on a simple concept where we each have an invisible bucket with the singular purpose of holding good thoughts and feelings about ourselves. When we are happy and good to others, our buckets become full. When we are sad or not nice to others, our buckets become empty. We become “bucket fillers” when we are nice to others. But when we make someone feel bad, we become “bucket dippers”. Bucket dippers dip into both of our buckets.

This program focuses on teaching important character traits such as kindness, empathy, and respect. Throughout the school year, our students have the opportunity to participate in various assemblies and activities centered around these traits. We believe by emphasizing positive behaviors, we can create a safe and supportive environment for all students.

We are proud to recognize our students who have shown bucket filling behaviors as recommended by their teachers. Mrs. Dupree meets with each student to appreciate their positive character traits. The student's pictures are placed in our lobby for our school community to admire!

Congratulations To Our Bucket Fillers!

Our students are being recognized for their positive character traits!
